I can reach the printer via the “Embedded Web Server” in the printer, but the Mac Book Air thinks it’s “offline”.
No easy way to reinstall it?

BY poking around in settings and giving it the ip address x.x.0.9, it was found.

Apparently Apple no longer supports POP … …
… … and I can NOT get GMAIL to pull from the Apple iCloud account.
I can send via the Apple account but can’t pull the replies back into GMAIL.

Always had trouble with it. Now I have to decide if the cheap little boxes are worth anything.
They have another cloud offering but I’d never do business with them again. And urge others not to either.

Last night, my current McBA was updated to 10.12.4.
Let’s see what’s broken now?

Got this a few minutes ago.
Wonder if it was related.

[$-409]ddd dd-mm mmm-yyyy;@
Don’t know what “[$-409]” is?
Don’t know why I need the space in the “mm mmm” string?
Don’t know what the “;@“ is?
Don’t how to “fix” that ugly space in “01JAN”?
SO I demonstrated I don’t know a lot!

For some reason, after I wiped the IPAD3 due to a forgotten password, I can’t get GMAIL to take the app specific password.

Interesting that I’ve been using this utility for a as long as I’ve had a MAC. Wasn’t until today that I explored it a little.
Come to find out it does “snippets”.
Now I have been using TEXTEXPANDER for even longer than CLIPMENU.
What’s interesting is that I found it supports a plaintext paste which is extremely useful to me. Who knew.
What other functions are hidden in other software I use.

It was easy to set up.
Now we’ll see how much it raises for what I think is a worthy cause.

How to use an external drive with a ChromebookNot all of your files are stored in the cloud. Learn how to move files between your Chromebook and an external hard drive, thumbdrive or SD card.

Chromebooks are built with cloud storage in mind and offer a pittance of local storage — usually only 32GB or 64GB. So, instead of storing a bunch of Word docs and Excel files on a Chromebook, for example, you are meant to use Google Drive or Dropbox. Instead of a large music library stored locally in iTunes, you are meant to use Google Play or Spotify. Same deal with photos — instead of storing photos locally, Google Photos, Flickr or another cloud service.
Chromebooks feature USB ports and SD card slots, however, which let you connect to external storage devices for those times when you need to access a file that you have saved not to the cloud but an external hard drive, thumb drive or SD card. When you connect an external drive or SD card to your Chromebook, however, nothing happens. You won’t see a helpful prompt or a new desktop icon that, A. lets you know the system has recognized whatever it is that you connected to it, and B. provides a quick way to view its contents.

Never thought it was that hard to connect.
Don’t remember the first time I did connect, but I figured it out.
I never eject so I guess I’m over due for a fail.

PLAYING: Google docs into wordpress
It’s an interesting concept. Perhaps even easier than using the direct WordPress interface. Or MARSEDIT from my macosx. Remember my objective is to move entirely from the WINDOZE and APPLE infrastructure to the “wild west” of the web interface. That means Google. But if there is nothing but the plain old web, then I have no need for an expensive WINDOZE or APPLE platform. MARSEDIT is one reason to stay on APPLE. I should itemize what’s keeping me stuck in place.
Having trouble connecting to my BLUEHOST blogs.
